There is a control in the bottom left corner of the window that lets you zoom out to see the larger shells. Look for a little + and - button above the timeline.

Ideally, for a professional layout, each shell would know it's own height for where it should break. For example, if you select a 3" shell, it should go off at around 300'. Same for all other size shells- see the other post for appropriate heights that we discussed.

This would mean, if you were doing a professional layout, that there would be a range in which you could place a 6" shell on the screen (with an angle it would be lower). I think if you were just doing a "for fun" layout, you should still be able to put anything anywhere.

The new release (see announcement http://www.finalefireworks.com/node/1006355) adds a new feature that locks the height of the shell to height appropriate to the caliber when holding the shift key down while inserting the shell.
